The EVICR.net - European Vision Institute Clinical Research Network, EEIG (EVICR.net) respects your right to privacy and complies with its obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We collect technical information from you when you fill out a form, register for a Meeting or a Webinar. You will be asked to provide personal details (such as name, job title, email address, postal address and phone number) or/and certain payment information. Other technical information (such as IP address, which browser you used, among others) might be recorded while you are visiting our website and accessing webinars.  Please note that you can visit our website anonymously, but certain functions and pages may be unavailable or limited to you. 

What do we use your information for?

The law requires that there be a legal basis for EVICR.net to process your personal data.  In general, this will be one, or a combination, of the following:

-       the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you;

-       compliance by EVICR.net with a legal obligation to which it is subject;

 To keep up to date and accurate details of your Clinical Site membership. 

2) To keep you informed about EVICR.net events and activities

If your personal data has been provided for the EVICR.net Research Resources Directory you will be sent updates on an ongoing basis about EVICR.net activities, including details of future events and meetings, some of these communications may be industry sponsored.

3) To register you for a Meeting

We will use your information to register you for your chosen Meeting and to provide you with updates and information relating to it.  This can be via specific Meeting e-mail updates (some of which may be industry sponsored) or via our website.  At any time, you can unsubscribe from receiving future emails for that read below "Your rights under the GDPR".

4) Submitting an abstract and/or Synopsis

5) To process payments and confirm transactions

When paying a registration fee, we will use your personal data to complete your order and to follow up, where relevant or requested, by email, phone or post on any transactions and issue payment receipts.

6) To administer Webinar Educational Programme

We will process your personal data to control access to the Webinar Educational Programme and, where relevant, to keep an ongoing record of your attendance and results so as to issue a Certificate. 

 7) Training Courses  

We will use your personal data to determine your eligibility for training courses, if approved, to register you for the training, exam (if applicable) and take payment.  We will also record your exam scores and results in order to issue a Certificate.

 8) To improve our Network and provide a personalized experience for you

We continually try to improve our Network based on the information and feedback we receive from you.   We want your visit to our website to be a useful one, making sure you are able to find the information that you are looking for and that is relevant to you.

How do we protect your information?

EVICR.net takes, and will continue to take, all reasonable steps (which includes relevant technical and organizational measures) to guarantee the safety of the data you provide to us and we will only use the data for the intended purpose.

When you interact with our website and Webinar Educational Programme, we use a variety of security measures to securely process and keep your personal information safe. Regarding our website and Webinar Educational Programme hosting facilities are situated in Europe.

Transfers of personal data to these suppliers are protected by appropriate safeguards, namely the EU-US Privacy Shield or by the use in contracts of standard data protection clauses adopted and approved by the European Commission.

Do we retain data indefinitely?

Our policy is to keep your personal information only for as long as is required by us to administer the EVICR.net in an effective manner and to comply with our various statutory obligations.
